Ask yourself the question, what do I want to do in the Army? Do I want to an Enlisted Soldier an Officer or a Warrant Officer? The recruiter can answer whatever questions you may have but you have to take the time to do your own research. Find out what path is best for you and what you want your career to be.
Each career path has so many opportunities for growth and advancement. You may decide to serve a few years and get out or stay in as long as you can and retire. You will probably change your mind on how long you want to serve. You are the driver of your career. I recommend you do your research in the field you want to go in and try to learn as much as you can from online resources. There are so many social media posts from those that served to help you make the decision you want.
Here is a link that shows the all the ranks and breaks down what they do at that paygrade: US Army Ranks
I was Enlisted and retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant at 20 years. I would not change my decision looking back. It made me into a better person and gave me so many other life skills. I want to take those skills and experiences and share them to help inspire the next generation of Soldiers.
I hope you found a little piece of value in this small blog post.
Have a great day!
