Not being a finisher is something I believe we are all guilty of at some point in our life. I am very guilty of this in a lot of aspects of my life. In order to become a finisher, you have to look at you want to get done and make a solid plan. You don’t have to get it all done in a day or one week. Even if you do it in small quantities you will eventually get to the result that you are trying to achieve.

I read a book recently called Atomic Habits and the author mentioned something about doing 1% off each of your goals. Over time those small accomplishments will equal the goal you were trying to achieve. When I read that something clicked in mind that told me, “Wow this makes so much sense!”. Thats when I made the decision that I am going to be a finisher in everything I do.

Also, while I was reading the book, I started changing some things for my morning routine and it has made a world of difference in my day. I have even created a small 5-minute workout routine that I do three times a day. It is making a world of difference for my health. I even got my kids doing it with me and they remind me throughout the day if it’s time to do the workout again.

There are many ways to break down your goals in order to achieve the end state. I set daily reminders on my phone and hit that check mark once its complete. It makes me feel accomplished when I can achieve all of my tasks for the day.

I see that I made so many goals in the past and only ever completed 50% of them. So, as I move forward into 2024, I am going to be that person who is a finisher. I am going to track my goals and continue to do that 1% every day to get that end state of finishing my goals.

Being a finisher is one of my New Years Resolutions, what’s yours? Drop a comment down below and let’s start a conversation.

Hope you have a great day!
