“God, when I think about You, I am filled with awe and much wonder. You are so much greater than me, and yet, You long to know me. With a breath You created people, and You care deeply about my life. l So with all that I am, I will praise You, because You are my Creator and Savior, and there is no one like You. You Alone are worthy of my praise and adoration! In Jesus’s name, Amen.” Prayer from the You Version Bible App.

As Jesus addresses his devoted followers, he entrusts them with comforting words of promise. He reassures them that the Heavenly Father will soon send the Advocate – the Holy Spirit – to be their constant companion. This powerful figure, likened to a teacher, will serve as their guide and bring to mind all that Jesus had shared with them. This poignant passage is nestled within Jesus’ final discourse in the Gospel of John, where he lovingly prepares his disciples for his impending separation and assures them that the Holy Spirit will remain to lead and empower them in his absence.

Through this verse, the Apostle Paul passionately conveys the concept that every single thing has its genesis in God, solely exists through His omnipotence, and ultimately serves to bring Him glory. The concluding exclamation, “All glory to him forever! Amen,” is a fervent proclamation of adoration and recognition of God’s supreme authority and grandeur. It is a profound acknowledgment of God’s integral role as the beginning and end of all existence.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You with grateful hearts for the reassuring words that Jesus spoke to His disciples about the constant guidance of the Holy Spirit. With open hearts, we welcome this divine guidance and trust in Your ever-present presence. Knowing that You are the source of all things, we strive to live for Your glory. In moments of uncertainty, we joyfully acknowledge that all glory belongs to You, our Alpha and Omega. We pray this in the name of Jesus, amen.
