I feel this emoji has so much meaning it especially having served our nation for 20 years. I look at all the great things the men and woman who are still serving are doing. I have to make it point to go and shake the hand and tell them “Thank you for your service!” of every veteran I see wearing their “I served” hats and shirts.

When I am scrolling through social media I see all these different stories about veterans from many different conflicts that fought gallantly against the enemy and reading their stories and the write up for their award is just amazing. I see many young Soldiers from every branch making history breaking records. It’s amazing to see what they are doing. I will drop a salute emoji on each of these that I see.

When I see photos and videos and stories about first responders and things they have done, again being brave and courageous at the risk of their own life just speaks volumes.

A salute emoji in the digital sense means something, but if I could meet and shake the hand of all these hero’s I would be honored to be in their presence.
