Today’s Scripture
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
— 1 TIMOTHY 4:8 (NIV)
Two Types of Training
Physical Fitness:
✅ Strengthens your body (temporary)
✅ Improves health (for this life)
✅ Demands discipline (but fades with age)
Godly Fitness:
✅ Transforms your soul (eternal)
✅ Prepares you for heaven (unlimited ROI)
✅ Requires spiritual discipline (grows with practice)
Your Spiritual Workout Plan
“Train yourself to be godly” (1 Timothy 4:7) with these daily reps:
- Prayer – Your heart’s cardio
- Scripture – Your mind’s strength training
- Fellowship – Your faith’s team sport
- Service – Your love in action
Prayer for Holy Discipline
Heavenly Coach,
Thank You for caring about my whole being – body, soul, and spirit. Forgive me when I prioritize temporary gains over eternal growth.
- Motivate me to crave spiritual nutrition like I crave physical food
- Strengthen me to resist sin like I resist unhealthy habits
- Align my heart to value what You value
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
🔥 This Week’s Challenge:
- Swap one gym session for a “prayer walk” (Exercise body + soul!)
- Find a faith workout buddy – Text someone: “Let’s grow in godliness together!”
💪 “Have nothing to do with godless myths… rather, train yourself to be godly.” (1 Timothy 4:7)
