Verse of the Day
“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.”
— HEBREWS 5:7 (NIV)
The Savior Who Wept While He Prayed
Jesus showed us that deep faith isn’t tidy:
- 😭 He cried real tears (Gethsemane)
- 🗣️ He begged for another way (yet surrendered)
- 🙌 He trusted the Father’s will (even through anguish)
Your raw prayers don’t shock God—they move His heart.
How to Pray Like Jesus
1️⃣ Be Honest
- Name your fears (“God, I’m terrified about…”)
2️⃣ Be Persistent - Keep asking (*Luke 18:1-8*)
3️⃣ Be Surrendered - “Yet not my will, but Yours” (Luke 22:42)
Remember:
- Tears aren’t weakness—they’re worship
- God always hears (even when the answer isn’t immediate)
Prayer of Trustful Surrender
Father,
You didn’t spare Your Son—how will You not also graciously give me all things? (Romans 8:32)
- Hold me when my prayers feel unanswered
- Strengthen me to obey like Jesus did
- Use my struggles to point others to You
Today, I bring You:
🤲 My specific need: _________
💧 My unspoken grief
✝️ My surrendered “yes”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
🔥 Prayer Challenge
- Text a friend: “What’s one thing you’re crying out to God about? I’ll pray with you.”
- Journal: Write a “Gethsemane prayer”—your raw heart + surrendered trust
🕊️ “This is the confidence we have: if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1 John 5:14)
