The Gift in Grief
Jesus’ words reveal a profound truth:
- Your tears are sacred – God collects them (Psalm 56:8)
- Your mourning has purpose – It softens hearts to receive comfort
- Your pain is temporary – Eternal comfort is coming (Revelation 21:4)
What mourning opens the door to:
✅ Deeper dependence on God
✅ Greater capacity to comfort others
✅ Truest encounters with divine love
How to Walk Through Mourning
1️⃣ Bring It to God
- “Father, I’m grieving ______. Sit with me in this.”
2️⃣ Receive Comfort
- Through Scripture (Psalm 34:18)
- Through the Spirit (John 14:26)
- Through God’s people (2 Corinthians 1:4)
3️⃣ Comfort Others
- “Who in my life needs the comfort I’ve received?”
Prayer for the Grieving Heart
God of All Comfort,
You are near to the brokenhearted—closer than my next breath.
- Hold me in my sadness over ______
- Renew my hope when the night feels endless
- Show me glimpses of Your goodness even here
Use my tears to:
💧 Water seeds of future joy
🤝 Connect me to others in their pain
✝️ Draw me deeper into Your love
