Verse of the Day
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
— MATTHEW 5:4 (NIV)

The Gift in Grief

Jesus’ words reveal a profound truth:

  • Your tears are sacred – God collects them (Psalm 56:8)
  • Your mourning has purpose – It softens hearts to receive comfort
  • Your pain is temporary – Eternal comfort is coming (Revelation 21:4)

What mourning opens the door to:
✅ Deeper dependence on God
✅ Greater capacity to comfort others
✅ Truest encounters with divine love

How to Walk Through Mourning

1️⃣ Bring It to God

  • “Father, I’m grieving ______. Sit with me in this.”

2️⃣ Receive Comfort

  • Through Scripture (Psalm 34:18)
  • Through the Spirit (John 14:26)
  • Through God’s people (2 Corinthians 1:4)

3️⃣ Comfort Others

  • “Who in my life needs the comfort I’ve received?”

Prayer for the Grieving Heart
God of All Comfort,
You are near to the brokenhearted—closer than my next breath.

  • Hold me in my sadness over ______
  • Renew my hope when the night feels endless
  • Show me glimpses of Your goodness even here

Use my tears to:
💧 Water seeds of future joy
🤝 Connect me to others in their pain
✝️ Draw me deeper into Your love

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
