Verse of the Day
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
— MATTHEW 5:6 (NIV)
The Appetite That Changes Everything
Jesus blesses those with:
- A craving for purity – “God, make me more like You!”
- A passion for justice – “Break my heart for what breaks Yours”
- A desperation for truth – “Your Word is my daily bread”
This hunger:
✅ Exposes counterfeit comforts
✅ Drives us to the true Source
✅ Guarantees satisfaction
How to Cultivate This Hunger
1️⃣ Feast on Scripture
- “Man does not live on bread alone…” (Matthew 4:4)
2️⃣ Fast from junk food
- Distractions, compromise, half-truths
3️⃣ Join God’s justice work
- “What injustice makes my soul ache? How can I act?”
Prayer of Holy Dissatisfaction
Righteous Father,
I confess I’ve snacked on:
- 🍬 Cultural quick-fixes
- 🥤 Shallow spirituality
- 🍕 Busyness instead of bread of life
Starve my soul of:
❌ Complacency
❌ Compromise
Fill me with:
🔥 A zeal for Your house (John 2:17)
⚖️ A passion for justice (Micah 6:8)
✝️ A craving for Christ alone
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
🔥 Hunger Challenge
- Swap one habit: Trade 30 min of scrolling for Scripture
- Stand up: Address one injustice in your sphere today
🌾 “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry.” (John 6:35)
